Choosing Quiet Over Noise

December Reset: Choosing Quiet Over Noise

Quiet Over Noise

Why I’m Beginning My Reset in December

Today is the first of December, and I am going to work on a 30-day soul or, instead, a life reset. I know most people do this on the first of January, but I don’t want to wait. I want this time of year to be for reflection, not rushing, stressing, buying, and overindulgence. I want to get a jump start on the new year, and I have a lot of changes I want to make. I’m starting by making changes to my blog. I’ve tried diligently to create an SEO-friendly blog to help get my posts out there. It’s been several months, and I have zero visits. If no one is reading them, I can post what I want, however I want. I’ve wanted to write for years, and I thought I’d start a blog. Blogs are probably a thing of the past, with so much turning to AI, vlogging, or tweeting. I still like blogs and want to write, even if not for the public, at least for myself. I think I will post more often this way as well.

Writing for Myself, Not for Algorithms

I haven’t made any ad revenue, but I think that’s a good thing because I dislike visiting a blog to read something and then having ads pop up everywhere. I get so annoyed by closing advertisements that I never finish the article. I understand this is how you’re supposed to blog to earn money. I’ve taken courses and signed up for all the programs for bloggers wanting to make money from blogging, but I just don’t think it’s for me. I ramble all over the place and want to say what I want without worrying about money, ads, and affiliate links. I also want to mention that I haven’t earned anything from affiliate links either.

Looking Ahead: How I Want Next Year to Unfold

What does a life reset mean to me? It means stopping the habit of listening to all the external voices and ignoring advice that suggests I buy courses that only benefit their sellers. I’m choosing to stop focusing on what others are doing. This December, I’m taking a break from social media to rediscover peace, hope, and faith. I want to slow down, enjoy the small moments, and stop worrying about the world’s expectations. Instead, I’ll listen to myself. I plan to take a step back, reflect deeply, and decide how I want the next year to unfold.

I have a lot to look forward to this month, and I want to live more slowly and intentionally. I’ve begun this journey by deleting social media apps from my phone and tablet, creating a quieter space in my life. I want to reconnect with the feeling of calm.

Calm

An Invitation to Slow Down With Me

It’s time to pause and reflect on the life I truly desire. December isn’t a month for rushing or pushing forward; it’s a time to remember what really matters—faith, home, and the quiet joy of simple moments. During this season, I choose to step back from the noise and intentionally craft my story. This reset isn’t about becoming someone new; it’s about returning to the person I am meant to be—living intentionally, faithfully, and with purpose. It’s time for a reset.
